ScrollGigs (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website at https://scrollgigs.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our service, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
When you create an account on ScrollGigs, we collect your email address, display name, and avatar URL. We support three sign-in methods through Supabase Auth: email and password, magic link (passwordless email), and Google OAuth. Only the information necessary for authentication is collected from your chosen provider.
During onboarding and profile setup, you may provide additional information including your skills, preferred job types, salary expectations, preferred currency, locale, and resume text. If you sign up as an employer, we also collect your company name and work email address.
You may select a profile avatar from our library of preset illustrations or upload your own photo. Preset avatar illustrations are proprietary assets provided by ScrollGigs for use exclusively within the platform. These assets may not be downloaded, extracted, redistributed, or used outside of ScrollGigs. Uploaded photos are stored in Supabase Storage and are subject to our data retention policies. To verify your identity, we may ask for your phone number. We use Twilio to send a one-time password (OTP) via SMS. Your phone number is stored in our database after successful verification. Twilio processes your phone number solely to deliver the OTP and does not retain it for other purposes. See Twilio's Privacy Policy.
We track your interactions with job listings, including swipe actions (saved, skipped, rejected, super-swiped), job applications, upvotes, downvotes, and feed browsing patterns. Votes are linked to your user account (one vote per job per user). This data is stored in our database and used to personalize your experience and improve job relevance scoring.
If you subscribe to ScrollGigs Pro, payment processing is handled entirely by Razorpay. We never store your credit card numbers, UPI IDs, or bank account details. Razorpay processes and stores payment information in accordance with Razorpay's Privacy Policy. We retain only Razorpay order IDs and your Pro subscription status.
When you use AI-powered features such as cover letter generation, match scoring, or resume parsing, your skills, job descriptions, and resume text are sent to Anthropic's Claude API. When you upload a PDF resume, we extract its text content and send it to Claude to parse your name, skills, and experience level. Anthropic does not retain your personal data after processing and does not use it to train models. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Messages between employers and candidates are stored in our Supabase database. Real-time message delivery uses WebSocket connections. We also track read receipts (whether and when a message was seen). You can share images and PDF files in chat, which are uploaded to Supabase Storage (max 5 MB). Message content and attachments are private between participants and are not shared with third parties.

Job listings displayed on ScrollGigs are aggregated from third-party sources including the Adzuna API, Reddit, RemoteOK, Remotive, We Work Remotely, and Hacker News. We do not scrape websites -- all job data is obtained through official APIs or public feeds. Employers may also post jobs directly through our platform.
If you provide your email address through our lead capture forms (before creating a full account), we store your email and optionally your top skill to send you relevant job alerts and updates about ScrollGigs.

Session cookies managed by Supabase Auth keep you signed in. These are required for the service to function and cannot be disabled.
GA4 cookies help us understand how visitors use our website. These cookies are only set if you consent via the cookie consent banner. GA4 operates in consent mode, meaning no tracking data is collected until you opt in.
AdSense uses cookies for ad personalization for free-tier users. If you decline ad cookies, AdSense serves non-personalized advertisements. Pro subscribers do not see ads.
When you first visit ScrollGigs, a consent banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising). Essential cookies cannot be disabled. You can change your preferences at any time through your browser settings or the cookie consent banner.
Your data is stored securely in our Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database. We implement row-level security (RLS) policies to ensure users can only access their own data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections, secure authentication tokens, and regular security reviews.

We process data based on your consent (for account creation, analytics, and advertising cookies), contractual necessity (for providing the service and processing payments), and our legitimate interest in operating and improving the platform. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what data is collected, request its deletion, and opt out of any future sale of personal information.
In accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data. You may nominate another individual to exercise your rights on your behalf.
ScrollGigs is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Job listings displayed on ScrollGigslink to external websites. When you click “Apply Now” on a job card, you will be redirected to the employer's application page. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before submitting any personal information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
